Welcome to Four Courts 100.

This app provides a fascinating account of the tumultuous events in 1922 that helped shape the country and the courts service we know today.

From the moment it was first built to its reconstruction after the Civil War, this app lets you discover the story of the Four Courts no matter where you are. Even if you’re not in the Four Courts itself! You can also learn about how the Four Courts have adapted to the technological opportunities of the Digital Age, by moving more services online

A blend of interactive visuals, videos and text will bring you back in time to three turbulent days in July 1922. The app will guide you around the Four Courts complex itself and into the spectacular Round Hall.

EXHIBITION

The Four Courts - 1922, Before and After
Commemorating the building, the people and their story.

This exhibition was produced in conjunction with Michael Fewer, historian and author, and told the story of the Four Courts from when it was first designed by architect James Gandon at the turn of the nineteenth century, to its destruction in 1922 and subsequent reconstruction.

The exhibition ran from 24 June 2022 - 10 September 2024, inside the Round Hall at the Four Courts.

Using photos and visuals, the exhibition told the story of the people and the buildings impacted by the events of 1922.
